About this fanlisting
The Tristan legend has always fascinated me. In the 2004 film King Arthur, the character is portrayed totally different. Basically, he's a new person with just the same name. Nontheless, I *love* this character! Many would see him as scary and uncaring, but - look closer. In quite a few scenes you can see him silently laughing or his expression will subtly change to depressed, sad, questioning, ironic. Personally, I think that the scout cares a lot about his fellow knights. (I could list lots of film facts that prove my point here, but this is not the place, I guess.) He is calm, confident, strong and reliable, although he probably contains a lot of anguish, too. He also is kind as you can see especially well when he talks to his hawk or tries to protect his horse on the frozen lake. In a scene that didn't make it into the cinema version, he says: "We knights are blessed in that we do not run from it. We seek it, grasp it by the throat and demand honour in our passing." - Hence the name of this site.
